December Daily Day 10

I still believe in Santa. Though I am sure that he is not a person, he might have been at one time. I believe that Santa is an idea. This time of year I feel that the word Santa is synonymous with Santa?the magic of generosity. Though it is unlikely for you to find a magical gift left by this legendary elf, the real gift is much more subtle. The gift is the feeling you get from giving to others and helping those in need. This does not have to be reserved for Christmas time. You can promote this feeling within your heart any time of year.

December Daily Day 8

My favorite act of giving during this season is to provide a gift to a child from an “Angel” or “Giving” tree. Knowing that I have the ability to bring joy to a stranger at during the holiday seasons allows me to practice my gratitude through giving. I am extremely  grateful that I am able to give to others. I enjoy being able to give gifts and I understand that this is a privilege. I feel it is my duty to pay my good fortune forward.

The Graphics Fairy – Christmas Label

Smells are certainly linked to emotion. A single smell can transport you deeply in to a memory or a feeling. There are certain smells that I associate with the holiday season. The most obvious that comes to mind is Pine. The smell of pine evokes the memory of a Christmas tree in the living room or pine boughs on the windows. It is a fresh smell that permeates your entire home. Another smell I associate with this season is the fresh, crisp air just before a snow storm. Though this scent is difficult to describe, if you live in a snowy area you know exactly what it is like. The air is so cold and thin you barely feel as though you are breathing at all. Cinnamon is another scent that reminds me of the holidays. Though i can not put my finger on exactly why. I love the smell of cinnamon, and it seems like it could be more of a fall scent but i have partnered it up with Christmas. Perhaps, as a cookie flavoring.

December Daily – Day 3

Lay out for December 3, 2018.

Dec DailyDec 3

Holiday music used to get on my nerves…and to be honest, at times, it still does. I enjoy holiday music in moderation! I really like the music that is upbeat and happy. Some holiday songs can bring out sadness or elicit unexpected emotions. My favorite song is ‘Christmas Wrapping’ by the Waitresses. My daughter says ‘Jingle Bells’ is her favorite. And this year my husband says ‘Christmas Eve Sarajevo’ by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra is his favorite, though he is constantly playing ‘Best Gift Ever’ by Elizabeth Chan.

Holiday music has the ability to brighten or dampen the mood of the day. I prefer to keep it light and fun this time of year.
